The huge strides taken towards global 5G connectivity is a valuable measure to IOTA’s global IoT adoption. IOTA (MIOTA) is one of the largest projects in the field at the moment and despite the 23% drop in the last 24 hours, the project’s future looks bright in light of the global 5G connection.
How wonderful will the world look in the age of ‘things’, or better say the “Internet of Things era” that is expected to change our overall perception of how we interact with “things” around us. With IoT technology, the possibilities are endless and the overall impact of this technology will be important to all of us. Imagine a world where every item, from the cars to refrigerators, to sofas and even buildings communicating with each other and interacting with millions of other devices to process information to make our lives as simple as possible.
The 5G connection across the globe
We have already seen the huge impact of 5G connection around the world through the world of sport and virtual reality. Earlier in the year, a small group of lucky fans, watched the Super Bowl LII final between New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles through virtual reality goggles, and high-tech sensors protected ski races from predators — using lasers, gasses and tiger roars to ward off dangerous wild boars. The steps taken towards 5G connectivity and IoT adoption is by no means a mean feat as it is only a speck of what’s to come in the future.
However, it’s not all about the high download speeds for 5G as it extends into mmWave frequencies, allowing for the high resolution and pinpoint accuracy that enables the type of wide scale and precise interconnectivity required for connected cities, factories and high-density events.
“It is more than just faster download speeds; 5G extends into mmWave frequencies, allowing for the high resolution and pinpoint accuracy that enables the type of wide scale and precise interconnectivity required for connected cities, factories and high-density events. Every item, from our refrigerators to our sneakers, will be connected to the cloud via a 5G network that can interact with millions of other devices, informing every decision we make — and, in some cases, making those decisions for us.” – Forbes
The connection brought about by social media saw the world become a global village with people from different continents connecting over the social platforms. The “Internet of Things (IoT) era” will connect millions of items across different continents and provide communication between them to make the world a home where we use appliances together around the globe.
IOTA in its place will have a big opportunity to take up the market share associated with IoT devices connection this coming years. The interest in most of the companies is to adopt decentralized technologies as seen in the digital car industry giant, Volkswagen (VW) adopting the blockchain. After the big Foundation dispute caused earlier in August has now resolved and the improving state of the global 5G connectivity and IoT technology field is a future proponent for IOTA’s success.
